HOW WE ARE ORGANISED
Names Faces People is an initiative of the charity The Welcome Group, based in Melbourne. Names Faces People is run by volunteers and receives no recurring funding. Both The Welcome Group and Names Faces People are non-political groups focused on grassroots support of refugees.
WHY NAMES FACES PEOPLE?
The world is awash with political propaganda, racism, fear and ignorance about refugees. Seeking asylum is a humanitarian issue that has become politicised and even manipulated for political ends. To get governments to #honourtheconvention and #welcomerefugees, we must educate people with facts and truth or the human rights of asylum seekers and refugees will continue to be violated.

I can’t tell you my real name and location. Can you guarantee that if I share my story I am safe and my identity is protected?
We will remove any identifying information from stories upon request. Your safety and that of your family is important to us.
